Wondolowski, Bingham lead Quakes by KC

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) Chris Wondolowski scored on a penalty kick and David Bingham had five saves to help the San Jose Earthquakes beat Sporting Kansas City 1-0 on Sunday.

Wondolowski scored his MLS-leading seventh goal of the season in the 58th minute after Simon Dawkins drew a likely goal-saving penalty in the box on Kansas City goalkeeper Tim Melia.

Sporting's Dominic Dwyer appeared to draw a penalty inside San Jose's box just seconds before Wondolowski's goal, but didn't get the call.
